A small pinch of cilantrochopped (optional but recommended)
1tablespoonof cooking oilany oil of your choice
Instructions
Start by finely dicing the onion, garlic, and cilantro. Slice the Serrano peppers into medallions for easy removal if needed. Core and dice the tomatoes.
Heat oil in your frying pan over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3–4 minutes. Toss in the Serrano peppers, giving them a gentle stir.
Push the onions and peppers to the side, creating a small space in the pan. Add the minced garlic directly to the pan’s surface and cook for about 1 minute. Be careful not to overcook, as garlic can turn bitter quickly.
Add the diced tomatoes to the pan and stir gently. Let the mixture simmer on medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the mixture begins to cook too fast, reduce the heat.
Sprinkle APC OG seasoning (or salt and pepper) over the mixture to taste. Adjust seasoning as needed. Use a potato masher to gently smash the ingredients for a chunkier texture or leave it as-is for a rustic salsa feel.
Turn off the heat and add the chopped cilantro, stirring it into the salsa. Let it sit for a minute to enhance the flavor. you can enjoy this with almost any recipe by taco bell, even like Taco Bell Black Beans.
